In response, Google has released a program for Accelerated Mobile Pages. The program will help publishers and businesses keep users. It will also help video, animations, graphics and smart ads load instantly. Google says the project is a way to support subscriptions and paywalls.

The project uses the new open framework AMP HTMLThis stands for hypertext markup language, and it is the computer language used to build websites and specify elements such as fonts, colors, and graphics., which is meant to be used across multiple devices so each site needs only one set of coding for any device. Github put together the technical specifications.

Companies already participating in the program include Twitter, Pinterest, WordPress.com, Chartbeat, Parse.ly, Adobe Analytics and LinkedIn. A plugin to support the project is available.
