The computer industry, restaurants and Internet companies are the most popular with consumers this year, with grocery, farming and travel sectors not far behind.
The least popular industries were the federal government, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and healthcare.
The data comes from the annual Gallup Poll Social Series surveys, which in August focused on industries.
This year, 60 percent of survey respondents said their feelings about the Internet industry were positive. That’s a big improvement over past years, and the data shows that it’s mostly due to an increasing number of older Americans who have changed their minds about the web.
